Beautiful Demolition Series
My work explores the tactile and aesthetic qualities of clay, using the material aspects of clay to deliver an idealised or non-idealised forms. The pieces consist of various experiments showing the effects that tobacco has on clay, specifically how they can be used to manipulate and transform porcelain. Promoting a dematerialisation of the object as a defining factor, while retaining a sense intrigue and physicality within the object.
